North Hobart Oval - Conditions of Entry
1. Acceptance of Conditions
By entering the North Hobart Oval (Venue), each person acknowledges and agrees to be bound by and comply with these Conditions of Entry and confirms they have had sufficient opportunity to read and understand them.
Failure to comply may result in removal from the Venue and, where applicable, reporting to relevant law enforcement authorities.
2. Right to Refuse Entry and Removal
TFC AFL Limited (TFC), as managers of the Venue, reserves the right to refuse entry to, or remove from, the Venue any person at its sole discretion, including persons who are:
- Deemed to be intoxicated, disorderly or engaging in anti-social behaviour
- Attempting to enter the Venue without valid authorisation
- In possession of an event ticket purchased from an unauthorised ticketing agent or source
- Subject to a Venue banning notice (which may include possible prosecution)
- Not appropriately clothed for a public place and/or barefoot
- Not compliant with directions from TFC or Venue staff, or these Conditions of Entry
3. Concession Tickets
Concession patrons must show a valid identification card as proof of eligibility at the ticket box and at the turnstile.
4. Security Screening
TFC reserves the right to manage patron, vehicular and bag access through manual and screening equipment checks.
Patrons must comply with any request for electronic, mechanical and/or personal searches of their person, bags or vehicles.
Patrons must not attempt to conceal their identity, either at the point of entry or while inside the Venue.
TFC will respect cultural and religious practices and medical conditions but reserves the right to refuse entry to, or remove from, the Venue any person whose face is covered (for example with a scarf, balaclava, mask or helmet) where this prevents reasonable verification of identity or poses a security risk.
5. Prohibited Items
TFC reserves the right to inspect any bags, clothing or personal items for prohibited items. Cloakroom facilities are not available.
Prohibited items include, but are not limited to:
- Alcohol
- Guns, knives or other dangerous weapons
- Illegal substances or drugs
- Aerosol cans or metal containers of any kind
- Metal or extendable flag poles, or flag poles capable of being used as a weapon
- Candles, lanterns or open flames
- Commercial, promotional or unauthorised marketing materials
- Open drink containers
- Cans, glass or crockery
- Musical instruments
- Whistles, horns, drums or similar instruments (including vuvuzelas)
- Unauthorised or offensive signage, promotional materials or political banners
- Fireworks, flares, laser lights or smoke generators
- Chairs, stools or shade shelters
- Hard cool boxes (collapsible cooler bags are permitted)
- Beach balls
- Rollerblades, skates, skateboards, scooters or bicycles
- Animals (except accredited guide or hearing animals; documentation may be requested)
- Professional cameras, video cameras or audio recording equipment (including camera lenses exceeding 300mm) unless authorised by TFC or the event organiser
TFC also reserves the right to prohibit any other items which, in its sole discretion, could pose a safety risk, cause harm, or create a public nuisance.
The carriage or operation of drones (or other aircraft) or remote-controlled vehicles is strictly prohibited.
6. Throwing Objects
Patrons must not throw any objects within the Venue.
7. Umbrellas
Umbrellas are permitted inside the Venue but cannot be opened inside the seating bowl or in general admission standing areas.
8. Personal Risk
Patrons enter the Venue at their own risk.
Neither TFC, an event promoter nor a venue hirer (as applicable) will be responsible for damage to, loss or theft of a patron’s personal property, nor for any other loss, damage or injury suffered by any patron, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
9. Patron Behaviour
Patrons causing a disturbance or refusing to comply with requests from venue staff or their representatives may be evicted from the Venue.
10. Tickets
Patrons must retain their tickets at all times while within the Venue and are only permitted to access the areas shown on their ticket.
11. Ticket Promotions
Tickets must not be used for unauthorised promotions or competitions.
Unauthorised promotional or commercial activities within the Venue are not permitted.
12. Invalid Tickets
Tickets that are damaged, defaced or purchased from an unauthorised agent will not permit entry to the Venue.
13. Recording and Surveillance
To enhance security and ensure compliance with Venue conditions, TFC may operate camera and surveillance systems throughout and around the Venue.
By entering the Venue, patrons consent to information about themselves (including images, data and photographs) being recorded by surveillance equipment.
Acting reasonably, TFC may disclose this information to third parties, including law enforcement bodies or sporting organisations, where necessary to protect lawful interests, the public interest, or the safety of persons or property.
14. Offences and Compliance
Patrons may be prosecuted, fined or ejected if they:
a) Enter the Venue or playing field without authorisation
b) Display disorderly, offensive or unlawful behaviour
c) Physically abuse, threaten or verbally abuse staff
d) Use foul or abusive language or make racial or threatening remarks or gestures
e) Fail to comply with these Conditions of Entry or directions from staff
15. No refund for Ejection
Patrons who are ejected from the Venue will not be entitled to a ticket refund.
If removed, it is an offence to re-enter or attempt to re-enter the Venue for 24 hours. Following investigation, patrons may also be issued with a Venue banning notice that may limit their future access to the Venue.
16. Children
Patrons under 12 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times within the Venue.
17. Event Risks
Sporting, concert and entertainment events may involve certain risks, including:
- Collisions with fixed or moving objects
- Slips, trips or falls
- Exposure to weather
- Acts of violence by other patrons
Patrons attend and enter the Venue at their own risk.
18. Entry Times
Patrons are strongly encouraged to follow the specified entry time and gate listed on their ticket.
19. Liquor Licensing
TFC is required to comply with the conditions of its liquor licence in respect of the sale and consumption of alcohol at the Venue. All persons entering the Venue must comply with the directions of TFC or the Venue in relation to alcohol.
This includes, without limitation:
- Alcohol must not be brought into the Venue
- Alcohol may only be consumed in areas designated by the TFC or Venue staff
- Intoxicated or drug-affected persons will not be permitted to enter
- Persons in possession of alcohol or illicit drugs will not be permitted entry
- Alcoholic beverages must not be removed from the Venue
- Security checks will apply
- Intoxicated or drug-affected persons will be removed from the premises
- It is an offence for minors (under 18) to purchase or consume alcohol
- It is an offence to purchase or supply alcohol to minors
- It is an offence to supply alcohol to intoxicated persons
- Persons supplying alcohol to minors will be reported to police
20. Additional Conditions
These Conditions of Entry should be read together with any conditions that apply to:
- A specific event
- Ticketing agent terms and conditions
- Sports governing body or event organiser rules
These may include additional conditions published on official websites, printed on tickets, or displayed at entry points.
TFC reserves the right to update or modify these Conditions of Entry from time to time. Updates will be available at the Tasmania FC website.
For the purposes of these conditions, “Venue” refers to the entirety of the North Hobart Oval premises located inside its fenced perimeter.
